Andoin Piano Trio
ANDOIN PIANO TRIO TO
PERFORM SUNDAY, Feb. 25
The Andoin Piano Trio will present a concert of chamber music at Brevard FUMC on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. The concert is sponsored by the Beulah McMinn Zachary Memorial Foundation, a trust that manages the maintenance and activities of the FUMC Schantz pipe organ. There is no admission charge, but contributions will be welcomed to make future programs possible. A reception will follow the concert.
Performers for the concert will be Donna Robertson, piano; Inez Redman, violin; and Benjamin Smith, cello. This will mark the twelfth Brevard performance for this popular trio, known for their exquisite skills and delightful program appeal. For this program they will perform works by Pepusch, Beethoven, Piazzolla, and Goetz.
Donna Robertson is professor emeritus at Mars Hill College where she served as college organist and taught theory, composition and other related courses. Today she is in demand as an accompanist and chamber pianist. Robertson is a published composer and was on the founding board for the International League of Women Composers. She is especially endeared to the FUMC congregation for the gift of her tracker pipe organ that graces the chapel.
Inez Redman, maintains a busy schedule playing with numerous symphonies throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Additionally, she teaches violin and viola privately and plays in several chamber ensembles. She presently performs with the Asheville Symphony and is an adjunct faculty member at UNCA.
Benjamin Smith, Assistant Professor of Music Business at Montreat College, plays with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and in solo performances throughout Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina. In addition, he performs with Cello Times Two, a professional cello duo, and directs the Montreat Chamber Orchestra.
Please join us on Feb. 25 for a delightful hour of chamber music. The church is located at 325 N. Broad Street in Brevard, directly across from Brevard College. For more information call 828-883-9025.
